Our children will enter a world that is largely unknown to their parents and grandparents.  Global competition is now the norm not the exception.  Our children need a school that prepares them to enter this marketplace with 21th Century skills and a Global mindset.  Connecticut’s top students are now ranked a year behind Massachusetts’s top students. (reference ConnCan.org).  

As a parent with children in MES, I know education is too important to be left to politics.

When Dr Sklarz came to Marlborough he stated that Marlborough should look to Darien Connecticut which has long been known in Connecticut as a place of academic excellence, as the model of education.  It is time to realize that vision, but not to look just inward to Connecticut but outward to Massachusetts, Singapore, Finland and China.

I will work with the Administration to achieve this vision in a fiscally responsible manner.
