Presently I am in my 22^nd year to serve as Board member on the Regional School District #8 Board of Education.

My Goal is: To help to provide the best possible education for the students in our district in a safe environment which is feasible for our wallet in the current economic conditions.

My overarching beliefs for the future prosperity of the Town include expanding the tax base through sensible commercial/light industrial development in well defined areas, expanding available services in Town so that we don't have to patronize our neighbors for daily goods and services, expansion of the sewer system to lower the burden on the current areas in the sewer district, maintaining our high quality of education, improving property values, while holding property taxes in check, and expanding our competitive stature for state and federal grants.

Thanks. End ALL long term debt financing - absolutely NO MORE. Encourage private financing for development. If selling, the town must be responsible for the "content", i.e., oversight, making sure that it reflects Marlborough life. Middlesex hospital could and should provide basic pharmacy services for our town, a natural (and revenue source) for them. NO big pharmacies and surely no Walmart or Target, are you serious? Better to have a Costco.

I am for planned, controlled development of the business park, with sewers. This would diversify the tax base and better distribute sewer charges over a larger base, which I believe is what was originally intended and why I voted yes in the first place. The glacial pace of projects in town led to the current fiasco, once a project is approved it needs to move before costs spiral out of control. In addition, our town needs a supermarket, other than Stop and Shop would be better. It should be set back off route 66 near the crossroads of route 2, and blended-in its setting like the Stop and Shop on Oak Street in Glastonbury. It would supply employment to our residents and also be frequented by surrounding towns, many out-of-towners commute through Marlborough and use exit 13. rest of comment deleted, mentioned specific people.

We need a more cooperative environment between the Board of Sele1ectman and residents which would include increased communication and the willingness to consider all sides including the minority. Be willing to reexamine a situation and review whether the current course of action is still in the best interests of the town and its residents. Things change!

Every effort ahould be made to reduce town budget.

I am most disappointed by the ongoing failure of the Board of Selectmen to communicate with and work with the Board of Education and the Board of Finance. This failure is inexcusable.

I feel that we need to support our businesses by allowing them improved signage, work to prevent the loss of additional businesses and find other ways to increase the business tax base.

We are losing businesses at an alarming rate. We need to see what we can do to attract and retain businesses.

I believe it is time to have a Town Manager in the Town. Hebron has done it and it is working for them. Every four years someone new comes into the political arena thinking they are qualified to do the job, and a mess occurs. If we had a Town Manager, then the office could be run like it should be, no politics involved. Five selectmen, one being the chair.

Stop wasting OUR money.We are not a big city. Perhaps someone needs to analize why it costs us more to run our foodbank, library,recreational facilities, etc. and schools than most small cities spend.
